Motorship "Anton Chekhov" is a comfortable four-deck vessel (type 301). Built in Austria in 1978, refurbished in 2003, the motorship is equipped with modern navigational facilities and exceeds the speed of 25.5 km per hour (around 17MpH).

This ship is one of two, representing the Austrian project of river cruise-liners, designed as an alternative to the German-made vessels of project 301 and 302. It favorably differs from them with a higher cabin standard and innovative design of public areas. M/s Chekhov was built in 1978 and has gone several refurbishments to keep up with standards appropriate for Western travelers.
