Our tour guide , Marie (I am not sure of the Russian version of her name), was absolutely amazing. First of all I found her to be very warm and friendly. But more importantly she was so professional and so unbelievably knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited, about all of the history in Russia, about all of dates, facts and figures of significant events and was able to answer any question that came up, whether about historical or current Russia. She kept us on schedule and even added a few last minute places we wanted to see on the last day since we had extra time. In addition she took the time to help our family obtain tickets to Swan Lake for our first evening in St Petersburgh which was quite a treat for all of us.

We recently went on the Splendors of Russia tour and had a wonderful time. We knew it would be a small group, but didn't know it would only be 3 people – so it was more like a private tour! The hotels provided were wonderful, 5 star all the way. And our guides, Alexander in Moscow and Maria in St. Petersburg, we VERY knowledgeable about their cities, the history and culture of Russia and also spoke excellent English. The transportation everywhere went without a hitch and the guides were very accommodating to my husband's handicaps in making sure he was able to participate as much as possible on the tours.

I want to say that the visa-free three-day tour in St. Petersburg was fantastic. There turned out to be seven people in our group which was great. Our tour guide (Anastasia) was right there waiting for us after Russian passport control. She was personable, educated, and excited about her work. Having taken a degree in art history, she was perfect for all the stops we made. She also was experienced in leading tours, shepherding us in and out the right doors, planning time just right, and making sure we didn’t miss a word or a highlight (of which there were about a million).

You arranged my travel on the Trans Siberian Railroad from Moscow to Ulan Bataar Mongolia.  Every part of the trip went well.  The tour in Moscow was short but great.  The time in Irkutsk and Lake Bailal was excellent.  All went well with no problems whatever.  I thank you!

The cruise from Helsinki went well. The meals were good. Our only issue was the departure process at St Petersburg, where people were lining the corridors waiting for their time to leave so we had to squeeze past them to get to the doors. On previous tours we've been assembled in the dining room and given numbers to sort out the departure groups. Our Tour guide Maria (Marsha) was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and was able to adapt when some of the party were delayed getting off the ship and through customs. Altogether we'd highly recommend this 5 day tour by East-West Tours – Chris Appleby -

The tour organizatiion was flawlessly organized, with good hotels. The hotel in Krakow needs airconditioning though. We heard other guests complain as well – Juanita Britz -
