Also known as Gorky Street, Tverskaya Street is the most well-known radial street in Moscow. Running northwest from Manege Square towards St. Petersburg, this street holds both historical and architectural significance. Expansion of Tverskaya Street throughout modern history has included the construction of many attractive buildings most notably Izvestia Building and the Central Telegraph Building, generally regarded as a modern masterpiece. You’ll also find a number of guest houses, hotels, and luxury apartments as well as Western shops along the street as it’s an ideal location for accommodation. The massive street features multiple lanes and appropriately represents the imperial grandeur of Moscow.
