Review about Grand Tour of Russia by Philippa smith
Our time in touring in Russia was an absolute delight. Our local guides: Olga, who patiently obliged the difficult travelers in Moscow; Serge – the young, energetic, intelligent and funny Golden Ring guide who tried to teach us Russian; Marcia, our fascinating, delightful, extremely knowledgeable guide in Saint Petersburg who gave us the personal insights into what it has been like to live in SP over the past 3-4 generations and of course, our van drivers (three out of four were named Vladimir), we could not have asked for any better people to share their knowledge of this amazing country. We experienced sensational weather, heard lovely singing, meet friendly people, ate in interesting places, visited amazing churches, palaces and places of interest and saw a bit of the countryside. Unfortunately the Grand Express bed was too short for my husband, consequently it was a sleepless night for both of us but that was a mere blip. I am taking the time to write this as it is four months since we were there and looking at the photos made me reminisce about the great time we experienced.
