A 6-day VISA FREE ST PETERSBURG TOUR starts on Wednesday morning with an overnight cruise from Helsinki to St. Petersburg and ends on Sunday with an overnight cruise from St. Petersburg to Helsinki, arricing in Helsinki on Monday morning.
The program is designed to meet a 72-hour visa-free stay rule in St. Petersburg for passengers arriving and leaving by ferry from/to Helsinki. We will meet you at the ferry terminal upon arrival and transfer you back to the terminal on the last day of your stay. Accommodations in St. Petersburg are at the centrally located 4* hotel.
An all inclusive sightseeing program includes a city tour, a visit to the State Hermitage Museum, a tour of Pushkin with a visit to Catherine Palace and Amber Room and Petergof Lower Park with fountains. It is recommended to arrive in Helsinki one night before ferry departure and stay at the Radisson Blu Seaside or Aleksanteri Hotel located close to the ferry port and with easy access to public transport.
Departure from Helsinki to St. Petersburg in the evening at 19:00 (7:00pm). Check-in starts at 15:00 (3:00pm). Dining and entertainment onboard, as you sail across the Gulf of Finland towards Russia. Overnight and dinner on board. (D)
You can sleep late today. The breakfast is served until 11:00am. The ship arrives in St. Petersburg at 9:00am, however due to a 72-hour immigration rule you will be allowed to leave the ship at 14:00 (2:00pm).
At 14:00 (2:00pm) your guide will meet you outside customs area. Your visa-free St. Petersburg package starts with a city tour including the city center, Nevsky Prospect, Kazan Cathedral, Admiralty, Strelka, Rosstral Columns, Fontanka, Canal Griboyedova, the Palace Square, Winter Palace, Summer Gardens, St. Isaac Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, Spilled Blood Church and other remarkable architectural and artistic treasures.
Your tour includes a visit to the Faberge Museum at the Shuvalov Palace with the biggest collection of Faberge works including famous Easter eggs.
After a delicious Russian cuisne dinner at the local restaurant , you will get to the hotel by 21:00 (9:00pm). Time to rest or explore on your own. Overnight in St. Petersburg. (B, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. A visit to the Hermitage Museum is scheduled this morning*. We will spend several hours in the main building where you will see old European masters including Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Titian, and Rembrandt etc.
The famous French Impressionist are now exibitied in a nearby Pavilion with a different entrance and additional entrance fee. If you would like to visit this exibit please let us know in advance. Otherwise enjoy free afternoon in St. Petersburg. Overnight in St. Petersburg hotel (B)
*The Hermitage visit is scheduled in the morning however this might change since the museum books exact visiting times few days before the sceduled visit.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will take you to Peterhof, driving by the suburbs and summer houses (dachas) of the local people. We will visit the Lower Park with Fountains, dominated by a spectacular Grand Cascade with shining gilded statues and learn about the unique pumpless fountain system., enjoy "trick fountains" invented by Peter the Great to entertain his guests, walk along the Gulf of Finland' with its wonderful sea views and St. Petersburg panorama.
In the afternoon continue to Pushkin where you will visit the famous Catherine Palace with its legendary Amber Room, designed by the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The palace is undoubtedly one of St. Petersburg's top attractions. The town of Pushkin, which surrounds the Tsarskoe Selo estates, is St. Petersburg's most charming suburb, named to honor Russia's greatest poet Alexander Sergeevich. Today is the last day of your St. Petersburg tour. Early breakfast at the hotel and check out. Visit Peter and Paul Fortress enroute to the ferry terminal.
The ferry departs at 18:00 (6:00pm), however, due to a 72-hour visa-free immigration rule you will have to be back on the ship by 12:00 noon. Overnight onboard (B, D)
